Re: Indian Air Force News & Discussion - 15 Dec 2016

50 lcas on top of 123 that we ordered, by any calculation is 8-10 years away. Even with 123 lcas we are woefully short on minimum required. When the balloon goes up (and all t went almost just 4 months ago), tsp or chicoms will not get be us a break on the fact that we have additional 50 lca ordered...

Re: Operation Balakot: News & Discussion

That said I suspect we did incur Su30 losses on the amraam. Not that I believe natsec jeff but a gut feeling tells me that ..dont have any cogent story..but the fact we didnt press things under the RoE ..esp after the heli loss and mig 21 loss speaks volumes makes me suspect. Re: Naval Tejas Mk1/Mk2: News & Discussion - 23 February 2019

For IAF, NLCA is an absolute investment, even if the current format is not optimal. The next generation, or one after that will see mass production (mainly because we may not have much alternatives, plus our own plane will be good).

Re: Naval Tejas Mk1/Mk2: News & Discussion - 23 February 2019

It is vulnerable from many side, including from inside. The question is not of should we have an A/C or not or only Rafale-M will solve our problem. I guess we can have a very lively discussion on BRF on A/C utility (why did the mighty Soviet Union did not invest in A/C?). But putting that aside, as...

Re: Naval Tejas Mk1/Mk2: News & Discussion - 23 February 2019

And Btw all of these -PN Atlantique, Mirage, JF-17 and P-3C Orions, can be taken care by NLCA, Mig 29k and of course Rafale. In fact Rafale will be an overkill. The current Mig29k serviceability is respectable 60%-70% (from 30% I guess, when IN was rightly pi$$ed). Let HAL/IN/Private player with or ...

Sure and that good plane cannot be as costly as Rafale, Mig29 or LCA-N (LCA N will severely be short legged but in time can be more reliable and advanced then Mig 29, or a later version/follow up can have better endurance) is as good as what Navy could perhaps get with the budget that we have. Re: Naval Tejas Mk1/Mk2: News & Discussion - 23 February 2019

I am amused. Rafale is our silver bullet, and all we can afford is 36 for our IAF (where apart from being the most frontline aircraft, it will also be used for strategic role - with grand total of 36 planes). Now we will buy 57 of these for IN, to do what exactly? Enforce see blockage of TSP? When a...

Apache, Chinook, GE 414 - In this GE 414 is the only one where we do not have a possible answer except a L(m)CA on AL-31. If 2052 is embargoes, UTTAM it is.

Re: Naval Tejas Mk1/Mk2: News & Discussion - 23 February 2019

There is an interesting problem. The hook hits the ground while landing, and then bounces back (before it hits the ground again). Can the plane roll over all the 2-3 arrestor cable, with the hook still in the air from the bounce and when it comes back, there is no cable?

83 pieces of 2052 have already been ordered. For it tam to work on a frontline aircraft you also need few more things, a mature bvr missile to be guided (and thus integrated to it), ability to slave even wvr missile ( not guide) and a ew system that works with it. To get all we are at least 5-8 year...

BJP rise in Gujarat and in India can be NAMO story. The first rath yatra (before Advani ji) in Guj was his brainchild (so was Advani ji's Rath yatra). After that as they say is history.
Another point, what if NAMO had visited BRF before he became CM (and maybe after that who knows?)

As far as voting on caste in spite of benefits - As you enter Eastern UP where sense of honor is strong (going to northern Bihar), more and more people will vote for Modi if benefitted and not caste.
