No but relying only on one piece of data. Please don't derail this thread by starting commentary with strawmen like this. You're new here, so you're offered some latitude, but any further thread derailment will result in a warning or ban. I am not surprised by your reaction or your post. Going thro...

Re: Indian Economy News & Discussion - Nov 27 2017

There's nothing to 'be fooled by' in cold storage statistics. It's a piece of data, that is all. JIT requires greater and more expensive logistics infrastructure, and does not necessarily indicate a better system. The US also extensively obtains produce that is prior to full ripeness and artificial...

Re: Indian Economy News & Discussion - Nov 27 2017

Yes but trade data cannot indicate strength of manufacturing prowess of a country without separating raw energy materials such as petroleum. If a country export more manufactured goods than import manufacturing goods, it indicates stronger manufacturing base. If it imports more, it indicates that it...

Re: Indian Economy News & Discussion - Nov 27 2017

Hence my question whether the petroleum products were excluded or not. I didn't ask for the data. Just whether it was excluded or not. If they were not, I will find out out myself. You're asking for post-processed data excluding some components that interest you specifically. Standard trade ...

Basis of manufactured goods and the fact that India's economy is not merely providing raw materials but manufactured goods and India is not a large oil producing nation. If we can see that India is exporting more manufactured goods than importing, it shows that India's economy is becoming well dive...

Re: Indian Economy News & Discussion - Nov 27 2017

Re Cold storage, don't be fooled by the fact that India is the largest in cold storage and US and China ranks behind India. China and US have honed JIT (Just in Time) warehousing to a high degree of efficiency that it lessened the need for more cold storage. A better usage of metric would be combina...

Very little of any airline fuselage remaining shows that the plane hit the ground at a very high velocity. This mean that the pilots have lost control completely over the plane and it probably nosedived with no chance of recovery.

Re: Indian Nuclear Submarines -3

Why are we paying $3 billion dollars for a ten year lease of a nuke sub? We should be buying it not leasing for that kind of money. It's a nuclear sub and not for sale. Then we should use the money to build our nuke subs. Why do we need to get another Russian nuke sub if we are building 5 more nuke...

Re: MiG-21 Bison shoots down F-16 in Kashmir

Pakis whine about Indian unfairness - at Wagah Not good for GoI because we need to protect the Indian prisoners in Pakistan from further retaliation. GoI would have a massive PR problem if an Indian prisoner was killed in retaliation for the killed Baki prisoner. After all Pakistan released Wing Co...

Architect sketch. House is 95% accurate.

Very nice. I like the design. Is it central ACed or do you use room AC units to cool each room individually? Have you ever done energy efficient design analysis for your house?

Re: Indian Real Estate Sector

Asgkhan, I’m curious about your house. If you have any pictures to share that would be great. One thing has always puzzled me. Why do most houses in India have flat roofs? Standing water would cause buildup of mold and seepage into the roof weakening the structural supports. Why not used sloped roof...

Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps

About the MiG-21 firing the missile and getting caught in the wake turbulence which led to the engine flameout, does this mean that every time a MiG-21 Bison fires a missile, it runs the risk of getting caught in the missile wake? If that is the case, I am wondering why would we continue to fly MiG-...

Re: Indian Forces Strikes Pakistan Terrorist Camps

Pakistan will do their outmost to show how caring they are for POW. IAF polit will be given a "royal" treatment and it will be used as PR. Problem now for India is that it will have to escalate and show Pakistani damage. My only fear is that their F-16's armed with sidwinder L are good an...
