That clause should have been amended to say GE414 or its likewise alternative such as M-88-4 or Rolls Royce engine. No engine manufacturer will mate their turbofan to an aircraft, without a signed contract. That is why there was a contest between the GE F414 and the EJ200. The former won. If the sw...

Russia needs to step up its electronic jamming and SEAD game. And they need to get its stealth fighters and bombers out as fast as possible. This war has completely shown the value of stealth bombing and aerial electronic warfare, not to mention anti-satellite warfare and satellite jamming.

And they still have vestiges of the colonial mindset. Look at the French territories and how they still demand reparations from the former African colonies. I wouldn't go too far to trust the Frenchies, only their motivation and greed for money.

Su-34 plane is not a very manueverable plane at low altitude. Besides this war shows that flying at low altitudes in this day and age of modern AAMs is just plain suicide. Long range standoff weapons are the order of the day.

In any case, to justify the R&D expense of developing a new plane, purchase orders must be at least 100 planes. So IN needs to order at least 100 planes. And that makes sense because that means 26 planes per ship and if you want 3 ships you need 78 planes and you need 22 planes for training, res...
