Hehe, so we have fully indigenous 3000km,2 stage capability have we.But they only thing Paks have tried to fire upwards into orbit is their pilots from crumbling Chinese Mig 19 copies. A 3000km range but no orbiting mission-muhahaha! I guess the Pakistani public is kept from schooling for a reason.

To be more effective need gamma source not alpha emmitter. Actually the health system would see very little additional burden until 10-20 yrs later with increase in cancers. The question would be to clean up, imperfectly, at a high cost or abdon the city at an even higher cost.

It might be easier for the IAEA to list countries that weren't ivolved.

This story is just developing lads. But no one has an axe large enough to grind to let out WHY DID THE US NOT DO ANYTHING WHEN THEY KNEW?

A Pu bomb given by China in April 1998 using recently reprocessed Pu would appear as 1998 vintage, conversely a Pakistani or North Korean bomb made 10 yrs earlier would appear as 'old Pu' bomb even though detonated in 1998.

So here come the open acknowledgements that the US did indeed suspect Pakistan of clandestinely procuring parts for its program as early as the late 1970s. Now to admit that they were not serious in pursuing Pakistan because of USSR in Afghanistan and the stage is set for some serious hand-wringing....
