Re: Why has it become so cool to hate India

This thread seems to have changed directions and is now into discussing Varna system. Maybe the mods can take the relevant portion of this thread and put in a new thread. The link to his new thread can be posted in this thread for the convenience of readers who would like to take that path. Pulikesh...

Re: Why has it become so cool to hate India

Chola u seems to have ignored the above posts. And if the harm caused by the idea of varnas was simply misinterpretation by bad people as Vivekananda said and the dream was to make Bharat a country full of brahmans, then why is it not possible to just declare every Indian a Brahmin and be done with ...

Re: Why has it become so cool to hate India

The Varna system worked because the Kshatriya, Brahmana, Vyashya, and Shudra were of equal station. The division was based on labor (equally honest labor if one belonged to one Varna or another). Ur missing the tree too. The Varna (caste) system is just a fact of life; all societies have it. The Hi...

Re: Why has it become so cool to hate India

From Shivs posts : Caste is a bad word. Leave it be. Don't fight it. Any attempt at rationalizing the sociobiological origins of "caste" will only lead to negative press. I must disagree with u on this. " Caste" is equivalent to "Nigger", " Negro". The politic...

Re: Israeli participation in Indian Defence (Industry)

Yes George , i gathered as much. That is why i was asking the price of one Air Vehicle and not the entire setup. In June TSP shot down Searcher Mark II UAV. Even if that one air vehicle cost 1 million $ (1/7 of 7.5 million $), its quite expensive. I just hope the pictures it sent was worth that much...

Re: The state of the armor - Indian and Pak tanks

Mike, Spoken like a private Try thinking bigger and larger I think that was a cheap dig. As far as covering 300 KM in a couple of days is concerned, Tanks are not the best weapon of choice. I would recommend Airlifting of troops and then paradropping them, adequate Air Cover and Air lifting of BMP'...

Re: Klub ASCM and Kilo Upgrades

Having a man in the control loop has nothing to do with its being a close or a open loop system. U have misunderstood. Man in the control loop is different from Man-in-Loop systems. The earlier generation of anti aircraft weapons on Naval destroyers were Man operated anti aifcraft Guns. The Gunny w...

Re: Klub ASCM and Kilo Upgrades

It must be pointed out that a Man in Loop system is essentially a closed loop system. Replace the man with a compute , his eyes with a radar and his arms with a mechanical gun and u have a CIWS. The whole objective of is to remove the 'unreliable' and 'inefficient' man with an 'reliable and efficien...

Re: Klub ASCM and Kilo Upgrades

Rajesh.. sorry about my earlier statement. CIWS stands for Close In Weapons System , which by definition means a Closed loop System. Close loop is always bettre than open loop, provided we can install an equally fast mechanical system with great responce time.

Re: Klub ASCM and Kilo Upgrades

A closed loop system is better than a CIWS, that much is obvious. But mastering closed loop system is important to India , especially if we want to develop a capable ABM. Developers working on Trishul will achive nirvana if we can achive faster reaction rate and responce to it. By the way in digital...

Re: Klub ASCM and Kilo Upgrades

Of course the tracking is done as a stream , tracking individual bullets is impossible!!! If the close loop system can have super fast reaction/resonse time then nothing like it, but in most cases the total time lag is too big to be effective.

Re: The state of the armor - Indian and Pak tanks

I think weight might be a criteria when moving on sand. maybe that can be compensated by wider track belts. If the issue is to cross wet soggy ground, well i suggest dont invade Bangladesh :p . The other problem can be destroying roads which heavy tanks use. But Tanks are used only when we r at war ...
