Re: Operation Sindoor - Post Conflict Analysis
Alan Warnes writes in his AFM article on the air battle: 1. Pak has 2 Cn satellites that are networked in their air defence set up so they knew immediately when our packages started gathering 2. Saab 2000 at Bholari was destroyed 3. Hangars were struck at Nur Khan (??) 4. D20 and Saab2000 provided c...

Re: Operation Sindoor - Post Conflict Analysis
I don't understand the complacency part, we gave the enemy a full 16 day head notice of our intentions, we should have known they will be fully prepared. Theoritically, if it was a HQ-9-AWACS-J17-PL-15 coordination, there must have been some time lapsed between us firing the missiles, and their coo...

Re: Operation Sindoor - Post Conflict Analysis
It is threat no doubt, but this is stretching engineering capabilities a bit too much. First L/S band isn't good enough to to guide PL-15. Requires X-band. Okay maybe it guides to general area and then the onboard seeker takes over. How does the co-ordinates make it from Erieye to PL15? Difficult t...

Re: Operation Sindoor - Post Conflict Analysis
Current thoghts, based on read of info, disinfo and propaganda released so far, on the air war part of the conflict: 1. May 6/7, IAF had a sense of complacency (our birds were well protected and away from known threats and capabilities). Complacency perhaps because Eyrie(s) not on station or far awa...

Where does he blog now? Indianmavericks is not updated. I found it hard to agree with some of his analysis in the past. He is certifiably crazy. Please do not believe his bokwas. Severely paranoid and conjures up end-of-world scenarios in his head. See this post of India's success at Kirana Hills -...

Re: Operation Sindoor - Post Conflict Analysis
Ex BRF oldie Sunil S conjectures in other places: 1. IAF hitting PAF precisely is bad news... for India, as this means that Pak now knows their nukes and critical nodes are insecure, and this knowledge will have consequences on security paradigm 2. IAF possibly messed up hitting Kirana hills... supp...

FYI Sushant Singh in his paywalled essay on op Sindoor in Caravan (June 2025 ed) says: "Officials in the Indian military told me that all the IAF’s losses had been caused by Pakistani air defences" Taking this at face value, does it then means that 1. HQ9 has been networked with Eyrie 2. ...

Re: Operation Sindoor - Post Conflict Analysis
Pakis were claiming in the initial days that their AA missiles were course corrected mid air by SaaB eyries to hit IAF jets. I would not believe anything coming from Pakis. Do we have some source on this? I think they were pushing misinformation of PL15 supremacy to perhaps really muddy the waters....

For some reason IAF is silent and people on this board who interacted with WCo Abhi on this board are silent. FWIW this action made us aware of PAF full spectrum EW capabilities and that itself is worth its weight in gold.

Re: MiG-21 Bison shoots down F-16 in Kashmir
It seems even the video released by PAF is fake... They achieved their domestic perception face saver. So we can split hairs but it doesnt matter. The thing is IAF did not respond to the AMRAAM shots... (as far as we know) and therein lies the beef between the two forces. The fued is not over. And ...

Re: MiG-21 Bison shoots down F-16 in Kashmir
Not sure. Looked like a deliberate miss to me, the weapon was being pointed away from the facility from the beginning of the video and the video only turned off close to impact, indicating no hasty redirection. No big deal though, we know Pakis have stand off weapons and we will take a few hits if ...

We will have to see, by given their deliberate description with the name Shahazudin etc, and in the initial days F-16D was mentioned. I dont it is 84606. We will have to wait for more info on this. Tom Cooper's wrote on Day 1 on ACIG that his Pak sources said it was a F16BM that came down. Seems li...

Re: MiG-21 Bison shoots down F-16 in Kashmir
Does anyone have timelines of
1. SoW launch from Mirages
2. Amraam launch at Sukhois from F16s?
3. Time of scramble of Mig21s (2 /4 / 7?)
We do know that time of shoot down of F16 and Bison was 1022 hrs
