Knowing Bharat Forge, they will indigenize furiously, and will do maximum value add in India.

I don’t think this order, if placed, will impact Dhanush/ ATAGS in any way. OTOH, the army will get a parallel supply of badly-needed guns

Have they started testing the Bharat 52 from Kalyani yet? Ordering another Made in India gun from a parallel line in the Private sector will ramp up the numbers fast.

Bharat Forge ULHs also need to be tested, and then ordered if found adequate.

If that is the case what is the need for buying limited number of rifles in 7.62x51? Won't the new Ak-103 purchase take care of everything, for a lower price? After all our troops seem to prefer the AKM during COIN ops in Kashmir and I haven't heard any complaints about the stopping power of the 7....

DAC approval means nothing. It is the aaproval by the CCS that we should track.

These days, even after CCS approval, actual contracts take months to sign.
