Question for Gurus:
If the Kaveri engine has already achieved a thrust of 73kN, then why can't a twin-engine ORCA be designed using 2 Kaveri engines? Will the thrust on that aircraft not match or exceed the Rafale's?

So if they wanted, IA could have ordered and inducted LUH without the auto-pilot by specifying a operational ceiling, while the auto-pilot gets qualified! I was skeptical about the Sig purchase. They rushed it through in a few months under the fast-track program, buying a rifle that, to my knowledge, no major army has purchased. OTOH the army subjected the INSAS Mk1C to rigorous tests over more than a year, and then rejected it. The Ishapore and Trich...

With the large numbers of planned LCA inductions, the demand for these 2 seaters in trainer role itself will be very high. In Gen Shankar's video, he said the towed guns are lighter and cheaper, and that mounted gun systems are too heavy to be deployed in the mountains. But then, wouldn't the towed gun + the truck that tows it, together end up being as heavy (and somewhat unwieldy compared to MGS) to drive in the mounta...

IMHO the biggest tragedy in the artillery acquisition process has been the army's ignoring of the Bharat-52 gun from Kalyani. The IIT Kanpur is located in the UPDIC. So, why should there be a shortage of qualified manpower in this area? Kanpur was one of the most industrialised cities in pre-independence India. Gwalior is also close to UPIDC though not in UP itself. I don’t see any issues with livability if investment comes.
