T-90 fits our current logistical footprint better mainly due to our transportation and existing engineering vehicles being configured for T-72's. However this can be remedied provided there are sufficient orders for Arjun.

Also IA requires a sizable fleet of attack choppers which can only be fulfilled by the LCH. IMO the current fleet of Mi's are grossly inadequate for our requirements. Also I won't be surprised if Mi-28N is the frontrunner as it shares a lot of common spares with the Mi-17's.

Seems like a logical step to go towards tandem warhead missile, considering ERA equipped tanks are increasing with our adversaries. IA is already doing so with Konkurs-M and now Milan-2T. Actually the deal has been in the pipeline for quite a long time now since 2003 when the MoU was signed with EADS.

AFAIK the engine under trials was an uprated version of the older 780hp powerpack. Whereas, the cost associated with the upgrade in the article points towards a totally new engine. Interesting development!!

Most of the sorties are usually 30-40 mins, the endurance might have increased by increasing the fuel capacity of the aircraft itself but with addition of the drop tanks they can further increase the sorty time. I am not too sure but that's what was quoted to me.

MMR will be integrated on to LCA if it keeps upto the schedule at a later stage as of now they are hard wiring the aircraft to carry weapons as well as structural modifications. As per the person at the stall Tejas will get drop tanks which should increase the sorty time considerably more than 30-40...
