Re: Tejas Mk.2: News & Discussions - 25 February 2018

But what about the Tejas Mk.2? The planned up-engined, beefed up Tejas variant has hit a bit of a vacuum now, with the IAF all but pronouncing that it won’t be pursuing the type. A contest awarded to GE for the the F414-GE-INS6 turbofan engine hasn’t translated into a contract yet. But the Mk.2 prog...

What is seeking to understand the legitimacy of decision making process? don't the court or in general public have MOD website, gov purchase policy documents, etc.? and court is not aware or what? #SC - become true shariah.

IMHO, 21st century, all documents must be available on-line.

^^buddy targeting is no use w/ stealth (ie JF-17 can't designate, it is lame duck!). /JMT

A combination of stealth airframe, plus buddy targeting and effective cloaking (a good long-ranged AESA with LPI+switch off/passive) with decoys would work.

See guys, IAF plans are for 50 year period..that comes with at least couple of upgrades. Finest examples are migs & jags.

AMCA will roll in after 5-7 (max 10) years by which time Mk2 reaches FOC/squads. Mk1a must begin the first squadron by 2020.

I thought we mastered and came up with our own 1000 hp engines (multi-fuel) for Arjun (tank-ex specs?). the uprated ordinance factory was available for industry participation.

This was supposed to be a common engine for T 72,90s, (and Arjun mk-2?) as well.
