Titbit from the latest VAYU. " there will be considerable delay in the next batch ( of 20) including 4 two-seat operational trainers as their production drawings have reportedly not been frozen" ! Frankly what is going on? Biased misreporting. First they said, HAL can't produce on time. N...

Re: Tejas Mk.1 & Mk.1A News & Discussions: 09 February 2018

I heard that one Tejas in the recent exercise took 23 seconds to take off rather than 21. I hope this is not a worrying thing given that 21 or less should be the norm according to my late cousin with whom I spoke a few days ago. Also why did they use only 4 out of 5 Tejas. This is very worrying to ...

If this thing does not get sorted out in an year or so, perhaps one could consider launching a 'relay communication' satellite with a GSLV launch (in addition to the scheduled payload). This 'relay comm' satellite should be brought to the same orbit and in proximity to the disabled satellite to est...

Do these 2 foreign designs honestly look that much more TFTA than the OFB Dhanush Mounted Gun? Get a better paint job and then people will be going waah waah over the desi solution as well. Should increase jobs also. And lot of land acquisition issue related agitation would come up in the MSM...

IIRC, N3 recommended to throw out flat rating at least 10 years back. No point to shackle a powerful beast at lower altitude to ensure thrust remains same at the higher.

The way to cut through the engine quantity logjam is via self propelled artillery on top of mbt orders.

I am advocating a CVRDE designed turret around Dhanush on Arjun Hull for last 3 years now.

Re: Indian Railways Thread (Dec 2015)

The speed is highly over rated. What most of the Indians need is a comfortable night journey which already exists for CHN BLR. Increasing capacity there via push-back chair car and double-decker arrangement would be lot more beneficial. IR should consider bringing in a sleeper class with lower price...

Ramana sir, slides 7 and 8 in the slide deck posted by brar answers it. By placing the control canards at the correct orientation (in the plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the projectile), you can change the net lift on the projectile. As the CL is in front of the CG, this creates the...

It is 2D guidance, not 3D My understanding is the lift generated gets altered due to the spin and any deviation in range gets corrected (within limits) However the sidewise errors can't be. But that's ok for the most part since based on currect dispersal pattern (there is one in Brar's ppt as well),...

Unreliable? Seeing oil leaks and belt breaking of t90 , what can be more unreliable? That's the view in the Army. You and I may not agree, but there are levels of unreliability they're willing to live with. The T-90, even with all its flaws, makes the cut. The Arjun doesn't as of now. The proof of ...
