Bihar, BTW, is not a scheduled caste majority regiment. Brig Thorat could not have taken over as a GOC in C of any Command since a Brigadier, even if promoted to a Maj Gen has to be a Div Commander and then as a Lt Gen and a Corps Commander adn get selected thereafter to take over a Command! sorry ...
