Hi
I met a Chaiwallah from HVF recently and he mentioned there are issues with Arjun's suspension due to increased weight of Mark II. He was not very enthusiastic about Army's response for Mark II.
Can somebody clarify if it is true?
Thanks
Prasad

Re: LCA news and discussion
Germany bats for EJ200 for LCA amongst other things.. Promises TOT.. project is related to the Eurofighter. Eurojet, a German company, is bidding with its Eurofighter engine EJ 200 to enhance the performance of IAF's Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) TEJAS. Choosing this engine for the LCA would provide ...

Re: Su-30: News and Discussion
Isn't it astounding that our "Noobies" are able to pass judgement about the maintenance of the aircraft, just by taking a cursory look at the aircraft. Battered Chutes, Peeling paint... is that all or do you also see Weary Pilots, Non-working radars, useless IAF maintenance guys who were s...

Re: Discussion on Indian Special Forces
What is this "Longish" comment about INSAS. I've seen INSAS with foldable butts in airports. Don't these weapons act as a deterrent as well as to defend. Won't the "Longish" INSAS deter somebody trying a mischief. I don't see anything wrong in using these weapons.

I think moon has more than water to revel to us . I hope ISRO would be accountable to the Indian tax payers. I wonder where we get these sudden attacks of conscience and realization about ISRO and all other organizations being accountable to the tax payer. If I remember correctly, we don't expect s...

Re: Armoured Vehicles Discussion Thread
Hi I am not sure why most of the posters are considering Army as the villain and seem to have already concluded that they will sabotage the trials. What if this is a trial not to qualify or disqualify Arjun but to fine-tune the war fighting strategies. With no experience in handling heavy tanks like...

Re: Su-30: News and Discussion
Sajith Is it necessary to discuss a hypothetical situation of acquiring a SU-32, which is not one of the MRCA contenders. Neither is IAF looking at the aircraft seriously. Maybe, you have your own reasons to believe SU-32 is better suited for us. Unfortunately, the MOD and IAF does not concur. Inste...

Re: Aero India 2009
Hi Philip I am a fan of your replies. But, I feel there seems to be a monotonous pattern to your responses. To all indigenous efforts, you seem to come up with some other option and say that this would have been better than what is being done now. You seem to have introduced Pilatus into the discuss...

Modification of Dhruv rotorblade tips
Dear Gurus
I watched a program in some channel in which they claimed modification of rotor blade-tips of Helicopters reduces the noise signature of the helicopter. If so, would such a modification be a value addition for Dhruv? Has it been tried already?
Thanks in advance

Re: Artillery and Armor thread
Hi I see in some postings that the poster thinks they are more intelligent than the armed forces which has made choices out of strategic requirements or because they didn't have a choice. While some ranting is qualified with apologies for being "unpatriotic", do those posters imply that th...

Hi I don't understand why you expect Igorr to defend Russia? It is not as if he is a representative of the company which sold the engines to us. For me, the seller is trying to negotiate additional payments - and seems to have some reasons for it like additional time and related investment. Cost esc...
