The mood inside Pakistan
Meanwhile in Karachi, there was celebration at the sinking of INS Rajput and the damage to INS Godavari. The “escape” of the three damaged warships was also made much off—their captains were felicitated for their daring (earlier threats of execution for treason forgotten). However, across the port c...

Aftermath of the sinking
The morning of the fleet’s departure for hostile waters, the wife of the Naval Chief accompanied by the wife of the C-in-C of the Western Naval Command had met the wives of the officers and sailors—ship-by-ship—at the sprawling Western Naval Command Mess. There, they’d patiently answered the questio...

Re: Fiction : Naval blockade of Pakistan
1653: The Saudi crew has deserted its ship; they’re in boats pulling away. 1655: The limpet mines on board the Pakistani ship detonates. There’s a fireball and the ship vanishes. India’s blockade has claimed its first victim. 1656. Pakistani air force fighters reach missile launch range; informed ab...

Re: Fiction : Naval blockade of Pakistan
Day 2 of the blockade. Nothing happens. A large fleet of ships is now positioned across Pakistan’s coasts, in particular its two ports of Karachi and Gwadar. Ships are sailing in—merchant ships bring consumer goods to the economy; oil tankers from the Gulf; one Chinese ship bringing in weapons. Two ...

Second stage
Pakistan had observed the departure of the fleet (nothing could be kept a secret). So, it had sortied three of its ships sixteen hours later—it took them some time to fuel and embark munitions. The leading elements of the Indian fleet came past the Pakistan Navy ships 22 hours later, but under stric...

Fiction : Naval blockade of Pakistan
1830 hrs: terror had the hit the country, again. 1900 hrs, New Delhi: the Cabinet Committee on Security met. This time, after a short discussion, it was decided that Pakistan would be punished, but in a different, unexpected way. The Navy would be leading the effort. 2000 hrs: Jeeps entered the Navy...

How did it go from Baghram to the Carl Vinson?
I've beeen reading this thread for three days, and while I can't comment on other things, I'm curious about the connection to the Carl Vinson. The Helis reach Baghram around 1030 US time. Less than ten hours later the body's tipped into the see. HOw much time did the body spend in Afghanistan. How w...

Shiv, Didn't study physics at high school. Re: Indian Naval Discussion
What surprises me is that after the collission, first how did the ship catch fire, second, how could the fire not be controlled, and third how did it sink. Yes, the firefighting shorted the pumps which flooded, but wasn't all this thought about. Thus, my worry is not the accident, it's the inability...

Awesome storytelling; haven't figured the Eggs yet
Dileep. Great stuff. Your layering of 1950s (when CG was in service) with 1730s is great, but I haven't figured it all out. However, the description of princes, places, players, and pretty women is great. Waiting for your next installment.

1730 at Macdonald, CST?
Since no one else's set a time, how about 1730 hrs at the Mcdonald at CST. The strike may have fizzled out by then. Also, its "early" enough to get back home for dinner, and since it's going to be a dry day, that place is as good as any other. We can also look at some more places around St...

Now live in Mumbai
Nirav, DMurphy,
Just to clarify. I've been a resident of Mumbai for twelve months now; just didn't change my details. But, yes I've lived in Delhi for 12 years and attended three B-R meetings: one at someone's house, and two in restaurants. Looking forward to tomorrow. Is at CST? What time?

Interesting that many of the Malabar photos have been taken by a Cynthia Griggs, Mass Communications Specialist, 2nd class (and one's by another person, 3rd class).

Minor quibble, but many people make this mistake.
It's not the PMO Office, just the PMO. The O stands for Office, as in Prime Minister's Office.
Nice part about the PM's speech, where he used the word Inshallah. Good work combining strategy, military, technology, and the aam admi.

What happens next:
1) First in Myanmar. Can the Indian troops airdropped to meet the government, do anything?
2) In the NE
3) In Delhi
4) In Tibet
5) In Beijing.
We're all waiting.

After North Swipe 1, the Chinese will be mad. I'm not sure a) whether their ambassador will meet the PM; b) they won't retaliate massively. A huge loss of face for them. Aslan Khan couldn't go from Brigadier to Lt. General bypassing Major General. What's the US Air Force doing?
Friends, reading this scenario reminds me of the Clancy novel, Debt of Honor. In both, the US Navy is otherwise occupied in containing another threat.
