Two days ago I sat in a cockpit of a Cirrus SR22. Apart from an all glass cockpit, leather seats and a dashboard that looks like a car it has this amazing flight recovery and safety system where the airplane deploys a parachute in case of a catastropic engine failure and lands the plane vertically....

I dont know if pilots are trained in simulated crash situations. If this is done then i believe the pilot still can keep his calm and find a way out. However if its not done then the point when the pilots smell trouble, obviously they will be confused and that does lead to mistakes. I do not know i...
