As expected, the Indian Air Force has recommended Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman for a Vir Chakra. Significant, since it’s a war-time gallantry decoration (has precedents though).

Actually if Tejas does end up winning it makes perfect sense to have someone from private industry run the assembly for Tejas E (export) , HAL should remain focussed on task at hand ; sorry to say but this is simply too much distraction if HAL is serious about delivering on the plethora of projects...
