Re: Military Acquisitions, Partnerships & Developments
And to that I say; The road to indigenization must not wait. In a time where no real maritime threats are imminently visible, we need to be trying to consolidate our know-how in ship/sub building. If GRSE and MDL get familiar with designing these modern warships from scratch, our gain is a capabilit...

Re: INS Arihant (ATV) Launch News and Discussion
Did anyone come across a timeframe for rolling out the next several ATVs? With L&T involved, I don't see why the gov't cannot become more ambitious and establish two parallel assembly lines going simultaneously.

I've been pretty down on the whole mania behind Biofuels for a long time. The Biofuel revolution has a potential to hit the poor even harder than Global Warming alone ever could. Mass deforestation, increased CO2 emissions, and a surge in food prices around the world are just the tip of this disaste...

I have a better solution. Contact the big private sector defense companies in India, especially Tata, Mahindra and the like... They are currently trying to break into the defense industry, with the government giving overt support, and they would probably be willing to put up the capital for such a p...

If I may, I have an interesting point to add... Could it be that there is a false perception that Christian Missionaries are more active in doing work for underprivledge peoples in India because of an inherent tendency for the actions of Hindus to be percieved as actions of a Indian or just a good p...

I agree that I do not see our worthies as being able to protect our heritage ... especially, not the dudes who think that burning Valentine's Day cards is a heroic act ... this is a depressing reality ... I will carry on the family tradition and teach two california chicks into this tradition ... b...

After all, if you have no evidence to prove that God does NOT exist, it is a fundamental principle of rational and scientific thought that you cannot invalidate that it idea. It HAS to remain a possibility. Jaylal, very briefly, I posted this in a reply to Kumar also ... if a god can be defined via...

Sanjay, Now we can endlessly debate whether it is more important to have faith in God or in science, but either way, it is a matter of faith. You have the utmost faith in what you call science, though it continually proves itself wrong and rebuilds itself in the wake of that rubble. While I on the ...

Hindu gods are allegorical , i.e., they represent the translation of a concept into a story ... That our religion, which is hardly a religion, gives weight to the view that God is not Gods nor is it God, but rather, more of a concept... a unifying theory than it is something of shape and form. IOW,...

Man, what is it with this forum and people that attack you like you've stepped on their foot or something? You're obviously older than 12, so lets keep the language from getting hot for absolutely no reason at all. You have your way of thinking about it and I have my own, but do you really think tha...

I'm going to X-post what I had put up earlier in the proto-religion thread. ----- When I was flying to my brother's wedding a month back, I sat next to an South Indian NRI from Oman who was returning from the States after having sat for his CPA exams. He was a good 20 years older than I, had two chi...

The bleat that "everyone else is doing it" and India is the land of Hindus and therefore Bharat-Rakshak should allow criticism of other faiths and protect Hinduism is a call for "reservation" that only protects the boring Hindu bleaters who in my opinion are doing nothing other ...
