^^ We have invested in Jaguars for so long and so many times. My only worry is if we can salvage the Jaguars once they get retired in a decade time. Hopefully by then we might be able to convert them as drones or at least use the engines and other parts for making new cheaper drones. The HAL-IAI NRU...

Hat Tip to IAF for supporting Indigenous platforms. When the current chief took over 3 yrs ago, all we heard was MRFA. Now he looks to be the biggest supporter of desi platforms. Long back Indranil had suggested to convert Avros to mini tankers such that each fighter squadron could have couple of them , which would be a tremendous force multiplier.
Do we see any merit in this in 2023 and does HAL have the capability to covert them ?

It's also a 3-week long exercise! Great going. Interesting to watch the performance. I am wary that other air forces would be able to get Tejas's low RCS now. Not that their estimates would be very far off but getting the real RCS would allow them to assess our capability in this regard. And there ...

I do not hope much from ACM VR Chaudhari and also from Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
Thankfully ACM will only be there at the helm for another 1 to 1.5 years.
I sincerely pray to god that we get the next ACM who is pragmatic enough to order couple of squadrons of MK1As ASAP !!

TEDBF/ proposed ORCA with weight savings and fixed wings would still have regular (non-serpentine) air intake ducts.
I wonder if Indian Air force would if happy to pick the ORCA as we are proposing here.

Why don't the designers fatten the cabin size and merge with the external landing gear cowl. I guess it would be aerodynamically optimal as well. This would aid in loading up bulkier cargoes.
