This much amount can create a multiplier effect in the economy, what is the point of holding on to this much cash, this can be deployed in econmy, retire loans, reducing financial burden and fiscal deficit.

Re: Indian Military Aviation- Jan 10 2012

I am confused onleee. Why should a towed target body have boosters and fuel tank. There is something fishy going on. As the name implies, towed bodies are towed by a mother ship(plane) like TTW Caneberras or Lakshyas. May be these towed target bodies will be released by the mother plane and having i...

Re: Indian Military Aviation- Jan 10 2012

this looks more like a cruise missile from the drawings in the tender document than a towed target body. If it is a towed target body, why should it have scooped air intakes and fuel tank?

Re: Indian Naval Discussion

Good points ARay. Don't you think that we will limit IN as a brown water navy and we will not grow it as a blue water navy in this trial. What will happen when the Chinese do not come till Bay of Bengal and use their SSBN to lob both conventional / nuclear missles at us. Will we have the ability to ...

Re: Indian Naval Discussion

ARay, I have been lurking in this thread for the last two days. I understand that you want IN to start looking into cruisers first, get them operational and in meantime continue building the ACs. I also got the point that these cruisers can be armed with a lot of ASMs and AShMs and we can start bloc...

It does'nt look like a paint chip. There is a small crystal like piece in front of the IRST. What I see is a abberation in the black paint right next to the IRST and not in front of it.

Re: Su-30: News and Discussion

Looking at the picture in Chacko's blog, it looks like the skin is torn off near the IRST. I wonder whether this is intended or it is due to high hours of flying put by this particular airframe.

2 is a wide band jammer, not sure of the origin (Indian or imported). 3 is an EO device (more likely to be LLTV which is closed). I also think 1 to be some sort of ESM/ECM Sensor.

Re: Indian Naval Discussion

I may be wrong, it may be the same radar, but, with extended range. If you read the pdf brochure attached to the link I mentioned, the radar can be configured in three different configurations, small, medium and large. INS Shivalik might be using the large configuration. It may well turn out to be a...
