UP cities and towns except the region adjoining Delhi are a terrible mess. Expressways are good but Yogi needs to replicate what he has done in Prayagraj in other cities and towns.

X-post ALso Jagan win had very little to do with PK. See vote share. Naidu lost only 1%. What happened is that BJP/Modi vote of 7-8% entirely transferred to Jagan. Naidu is not an astute politician. He thought BJP/Modi vote was all due to him. But I am hearing AP, BH, OR will get special status as B...

No I meant what can be done to remove RTO checkposts. A source of corruption. Haven't seen them in the west. IMO not necessary. If it is a state issue why are BJP govts not removing it?

Re: J&K News and Discussion - 2016

There is a mismatch between the reported population of J&K and their TFR. At the reported TFR of 1.9 you can't have a population growth of 24%. If the TFR data is correct then pop is much lesser than reported. This I have pointed out several times on this forum in the past. In addition, various ...

The third language should be there for national integration purposes but it should be left to the school to decide which third languages they want to teach. In such a vast excercise of detecting millions of illegal immigrants there will be a few mistakes. That is to be expected. All illegal aliens declared can approach tribunals which are being set-up. This after 2 levels of verification. This is a pretty robust approach.

Re: Indian Education System

There is needless controversy about third language in NEP in TN. Third language will help national integration but should not only be Hindi. It can be any language from the scheduled languages. Otherwise a good policy will have accusations of Hindi imposition.

Re: 2019 General Elections : Results Discussion

Dharma I think what is preventing in bringing Ramdev's policy is that in states like UP< BH, JH, RJ, CG the Hindu TFR is still above 2.1 and these are vote heavy states. THis can be a political hot potato at this time. Should be done as soon as Hindu TFR reaches 2.1 in these states.

To contain demographics within India you have to make all social welfare available to only people with two or less children. Ramdev is right on this issue even though the left-lib are after him.

Ramana, what I meant was except TN there was no anti-incumbency. In KL Sabarimala superceded all other concerns. In AP CBN got toasted as the BJP/Modi votes got transferred to Jagan. In TG north is saffron, spectacular gains if you see the AE a few months back. PJ I believe some sections of SIkhs ar...

There is a lot of sewerage entering WB BJP. Trying to run too fast will lead to loss of energy in the long run. Manirul Islam should not be in the party. Arjun Singh is a local strongman. Need to be careful with Mukul's engineering. TMC in BJP colors will not save the state.
