Re: Indian Railways Thread (Dec 2015)

I am glad the body of T18 looks machined and not the "hammered look" of IR bogies. The streamlining of the bogies is also great. Cabin cab is not that great. The interiors look the best of any IR trains I have seen.

Re: Indian Space Program: News & Discussion - Sept 2016

We should compare all STEM projects by per capita GDP as modern science is capital intensive. By that measure ISRO has no competitor. Ofcourse Indian govt orgs are not the most efficient and there is always scope for improvement. But with ISRO we are getting a good bang for the buck.

Kidambi has a new problem in Momota. I think this is the 3rd or 4th time that he has lost to Momota this year. Saina is in a Superseries final after a long-long time.

Re: Indian Economy News & Discussion - Nov 27 2017

These are not trade barriers. These are measures to disincentivize imports of electronics and incentivize local manufacturing by the "same companies". So you are going to get the same product but made in India. The benefits are local jobs and building an ecosystem that can be leveraged for...

Re: Indian Economy News & Discussion - Nov 27 2017

Who is opposing any of these. All these can be done by manufacturing in India as well. It builds up industrial base, gives jobs and builds up an ecosystem for further technological development. You want India to be the baby sucking the milk bottle in class 12. No one asked for a blanket ban. Meanwhi...

India hold China to 0-0 draw in football. While the score is good considering China is ranked 76 to India's 97, India is still not at international level. Played a defensive match and had some scoring chances. Two Chinese shots hit the goalpost. I feel there is a marked improvement in fitness compar...
