Thanks but no thanks. I like playing my "Opressor" role.
So are you saying that you would like to enjoy special rights while you are in minority, but wouldn't let others have similar rights while you are in majority ?

I think that is what the "beef issue" boils down to.

you have been trying to prove that Hindus are cruel to cows. No, I have been trying to show why slaughtering cow is necessary, as a lot of people depend on that for food. I never said only Hindus are cruel to cows, the article that I quoted states that cows/bullocks are mis-treated in India and it ...

Why not a simpler explanation like people from Madurai hounding out Kannagi after she burnt Madurai and was hiding in Kodungallor ? If I recall exactly there are two groups yelling 'theri' (obscenities) that converge on the temple, one from the south and the other from the north. Are they not comme...

However, I find it quite interesting, that you always seem to overlook the muslim portions, even in your earlier posts on this thread I don't understand which "muslim portion" is overlooked here. For argument's sake, if an article gets published in Pakistani newspaper, does it become less...

I think the assertion from Shiv doesn't make that a fact. I don't think "cow-murderers" overfeed them. After all, days preceding the "cow murder", usually these animals are walking a lot, so any amound of feeding is not going to make them fatter. If you don't believe me, go to Wa...

I think Cow Slaughter is banned in all states except Kerala and either Bengal or Arunachal. I know Kerala and Bengal perimit cow slaughter. I thought it was permitted in some of the NE states like Meghlaya and Mizoram. Interestingly one of the largest abattoir, Al-Kabeer in AP, is owned by a hindu....

AnandK, You claimed I am spreading misinformation, but it appears you never responded to the issues that I posed here. Have you heard of "ezhava memorial" ? I am posting the following for your benefit. I think that should be enough to prove how under the travancore monarchy, lowercastes an...

I deliberately didn't tell the whole story about Kodungalloor Bharani and as I can see, Valkan and Disha have jumped the gun already. :D The offerings by Dalits is part of "kaavu theendal" - i.e. making the temple impure. Dalits are not allowed to perform year-round poojas in that temple, ...

It is not a "cow thingy", it is a question of individual rights. Shiv made a comment that people can eat a dead cow instead of resorting to cow-slaughter. I showed an example of what happened to dalits who skinned a dead cow and how the perpetrators have escaped the consequences. In this f...

Alok N, I don't see why this is similar to EJ activity ... I think geeth gave the answer For those who are uninterested, preachings of Evangelists are as obscene as these songs you refer. By the way, I like those songs very much So one may not like "bharani pattu" or preaching of evangelic...

Try molesting a woman in the street, and there will be a thousand people - not necessarily her relatives - baying for your blood. There is no immediate danger to their lives, but they involuntarily do it! There you go!! Here comes a potential justification for the murder of those dalits!! Dalits we...

The ones that die get eaten. Lots of cows, lots of natural deaths. Lots of beef. Have you heard of 5 dalits who were murdered for skinning a DEAD cow in Jhajjar ? http://www.zmag.org/sustainers/content/2002-11/01deshpande.cfm On 15 October 2002, at Duleena village in Jhajjar district of the north I...

Elsewhere I read shiv talking about how hinduism never had political patronage. Not really true. The princely state of Travancore was ruled by kings who considered themselves as "padmanabha dasan" (servent of Sri Padmanabha, deity in trivandrum). From what I understand, most of the high le...

In states where cow slaughter is illegal, you are quite welcome to import beef from neighbouring states, or beef-exporting nations like Brazil, Argentina, US and Japan. Of course, the price will always be higher. But that's a deal you have to strike between your purse and your palate. Nobody preven...
