What is the advantage of having an all electric tank over conventional types ? By 'all electirc' do you also mean; 1) The main gun is an E-M rail gun? 2) All electric motor instead of IC engine? Even if Arihant will be restricted to TD status until other classes of SSBN/SSN are perfected, they can still be used for special intel gathering purposes. What is the exact difference between a 155mm 39 caliber shell and a 155mm 52 caliber shell? I know that a 155mm shell will be larger than say a 130mm one and to put in very simple terms cause a bigger explosion. Since it carries more propellant, the range would also be greater. But what is the effe...

I think the Home Guards need to be trained and roped in for riot control under local police command. CRPF should be made an exclusive CI and CT security force. The recommendations of GOM post Kargil on one force-one function seems to be getting a boot nowadays due to the red menace.

IMHO the difference between operational use of Brahmos and Prithvi is in the type of warheads to be used. Brahmos will use a unitary armour piercing warhead. And yes, the IA may want to airlift T-90s to A&N for the same reason the IA is deployed there in the first place. To deter an amphibious invasion onto the place or to use it as a launching point for the same. Well let me be the first to say that they dont need "tanks" for that. Normal...
