Re: China Military Watch - Jan 11, 2011

<SNIP> In 1962, IA/politicos slept thru the PRC build-up, I don't think this would be the case anytime in the future. Of the many things that IA is responsible for in 1962 - especially, failure of higher command - it was not unaware of the danger posed by the Chinese. IA Generals are war-gamed PLA ...

Re: Pakistan arms sales, ops, doctrine, etc

On the 50 Thunders China and Pakistan also mutually distrust India, which China fought in a brief but bloody 1962 border war. Pakistan and India have battled three times since 1947, including in a 1999 conflict that brought the nuclear—armed neighbours to the brink of all—out war. Chindu has exceed...

It added that the two countries are also discussing the supply of Chinese J-20 stealth jets and Xiaolong/FC-1 multi-purpose light fighter aircraft to Pakistan . Pakis are going to induct a plane which has flown couple of sorties??? which even China has not inducted? India is moving on MMRCA plane, ...

^ That is a good development. Imagine pakis shooting down a couple of their national birds and sending them to PRC. The next coldwar will be fought in Pakistan. I don't agree Paki's can do it, remember the big pi$$ing contest few weeks back about Paki F-16 can shoot down "national birds" ...

In 1962, IA/politicos slept thru the PRC build-up, I don't think this would be the case anytime in the future. Surveillance then was worse in every way. Bringing the hull sections, reactor and fuel seprately and completing the process in SBC Vizag makes sense. Vizag has a strong presence in heavy engineering from its BHPV days. Also Hindusthan Shipyard is now wholly MODs and not having any pesky civilian ship construction crew. RIP to the deceased, ...

I expect new Corps HQ with 2 new divisions - existing Division (3rd ID) will stay with XIV Corps. So, that is 6 more mountain divisions and three more Corps HQ. Gentlemen, that report of X hours of mobilization was for an Brigade level force. Why is retooling needed if they are making only incremental changes to Arjun MarkI to get MarkII. If it is a drastic change, it makes sense to make one more production run with MarkI itself before the un-ending trials of MarkII gets completed.

What we can be sure of is that the tank lines will not be idle. They will do something with it. Doing something does not help, we need more Arjuns, this line can't be used for T-90s too so the delay / idling is in-explicable. C-130Js are the real force multipliers, they can easily move troops to a frontline, also drop forces behind enemy lines. 6+6 C130Js is only the beginning, there is lots more to come, just like the C-17 order is getting increased, this would also become large.
