Re: Indian Military Aviation

I war time it's not an aircraft that fights, but a flying weapon system with 2 pilots sharing and managing the capabilities of the platform that fights.. you put 1 in a 2 seater.. and there you have reduced the capabilities by a factor of more than half.. In that respect, are 2 pilots in single a/c...

Re: Indian Military Aviation

Is'nt it better for war time if we are able to fly more aircraft with less pilots? It is nice if a/c's are 2 seater but aren't we going overboard? What makes you think a 2 seater a/c cannot take off with just one pilot? Just to add, sure they can. But then why delay things by demanding extra develo...

Re: Indian Military Aviation

hi - i'm newbie with a question why does it seem that IAF is obsessed with 2 seater a/c's? Su30MKI, PAKFA ... have been modified to 2 pilots. Is'nt it better for war time if we are able to fly more aircraft with less pilots? It is nice if a/c's are 2 seater but aren't we going overboard? What is per...

Re: Indian Naval Discussion

India-Japan-US Navy exercise near South China Sea called off. Remember even Obama has refused to meet Dalai Lama before his China Visit. http://www.indianexpress.com/news/chinas-naval-nationalism-has-a-k-antony-blinked/525249/ China has already stopped respecting india. What can the Indian Navy do n...

Re: Indian Naval Discussion

I'm a newbie with question
Mig29 has its own shortcomings ...maintenance, struct probs, engine, payload, range compared to Su30.
"Why not SU30 for Carriers as in Russia/China?"

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

Mig 35 derives from Mig29 which was first inducted in IAF in 1987!!!
Service issues are also well known .. I am sure it would be another gorshkov as it is the only plane not in production and use. Even RuAF has not ordered it.

Re: MRCA News and Discussion

We should not care what the political / other aspects of selection of MRCA as long as we able to use it in time of war :!: If we focus only on the needs of IAF & how can deploy various strategies/ roles with selected a/c and cost (if it is a constraint more valuable than winning wars) it shall r...
