Re: Indian Naval Discussion

The arresting mechanism is hydro-pneumatic (no steam) Hi George, thanks for the correction. That is what I intended to say, however, I guess you can call it a slip-up at my end. At the same time, I do believe that this is not a simple mechanism to add within the ship. I tried (unsuccessfully) to fi...

Re: Indian Naval Discussion

The only thing I can come up with is arrested landing gear. And that cant be such a big deal. Will it? The arrestor mechanism needs a massive steam driven piston which would be able to absorb the kinetic energy of the landing a/c. Needless to say, the heavier the a/c the more massive this arrangeme...

Karan, For all those words, you have given not one substantiative proof that Arjun FCS has the capability. The commander doesnt have a night sight, that typically is a precursor to HK capabilies. talking about Podding & Modding, what is the feasibility of having a podded radar?
that way, in a flight, one a/c can act as the dedicated AWACS kind of a/c while the others in the swarms can use the network centric capabilities to quietly go about their tasks?

does this imply that the others are definitely out, or can the others still be "in" as long as they do not change their commercial bids?

Hi I have a general question:
When (after many many years) the AF has decided to move away from over-dependence of 1 source. How come the IA seems to be so out-of-sync with this thought process?
Or are they waiting to launch the IA's version of the MMRCA (the MMRCT perhaps)?
