Sourav saar I have gone into depression with our small arms strategy..
All these videos are also India's failure WRT small arms.
The only other thing that caused such depression was the new marching style of the SF.

Philip while cost and capability go hand in hand I am here focussing on capability only - it is a theoretical exercise.
The battlefield of the 80s is different perhaps because of the capabilities that are availabe today.

Bite the bullet and decide that Jaguar will be phased out as Mk1 LCA comes in .Rather than pay honeywell start progressively retiring them.

I think LCA MK1 is better than Jag and I am not worried about ferry range especially in the western sector.

AK deal is for progressively replacing the INSAS completely in IA service. Going for AK 308 makes no sense for that purpose. That said I have been increasingly of the opinion that we standardise on 7.62.51.

Get super super rifle for your "front line" but convert the FN modern version like DSA for non regular troops.

AK 308 can be used by CI troops.
