Re: Aero India 2003 - News & Reports

Note the LAH from Defexpo has the same tail rotor, i hope to see the new model with the LOH tail rotor, as in a fenestron type rotor. With the LAH being more ground 'hugging' it makes more sense to go in for a safer design that could prevent the tail from being damaged by objects around it. Asking t...

Re: Aero India 2003 - News & Reports

Sridhar K, From what i can see the heli in the foreground is a Mi 35 Hind gunship, while the one behind it is the army version of the Dhruv ALH. Heres the photo from Defexpo 2002 in the BR monitor. There is a better photo hiding somewhere though. http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MONITOR/ISSUE4-5/rajloh...

Big Gas Fields Are Found in Indian Waters : Quote : Besides being bad news for Qatar and Bangladesh, the latest discoveries could affect India's strategic posture. The Indian Navy is starting to see the offshore energy discoveries, and the need to defend them, as a way to press for more money and ne...

Re: The state of the armor - Indian and Pak tanks

A Nitin post a day keeps the Arjun naysayers at bay! Ive been trying to do some reading on some reports i keep reading around about why a 120mm rifled gun on the Arjun/Challenger 2 might be more "Lethal" than a 120mm/125mm smoothbore gun. All ive been able to come up with is that rifled guns are mor...

Re: Arjun – To be or not to be (?)

So our future tank army MIGHT look like something like this : 600 T-90's(with the speculated 300 aditional) 200 T-72 Rhino's with upgraded polish FCS 1800 T-72's upgraded to Karna standard....(when we say the production line exists...im assuming that this is not to produce more T-72's but to upgrade...

Re: Bharat Rakshak Celebrates Five Years!

Ok I can sense the emotion on this thread and for not wanting it to turn out like bollywood script, I’ll keep it short. Being an NRI and having seen India only once in the last 16 years, BR has just been incredible, a resource and wealth of material on India and its armed forces that over the years ...

Re: Arjun – To be or not to be (?)

Some great info by all, but i have a few questions to nitpick. As pointed out by Nitin the FCS is not swedish but dutch. Was this six years ago? As per BR webpages the FCS is the Bharat Electronics AL-4421 Mk.1B Digital FCS. Is this the FCS with the excellent results that satisfied the army in 2002 ...
