Re: Indian Naval Discussion

I think Parrikar is settling in

He is questioning the services "wet dream" lists and making them justify.

I have not been convinced this US 2 is a priority

same with the Avro replacement

Re: Indian Military Aviation- September 29 2013

what was the operational status of the IAF in the almost happened last war? Yeah Mig 21s with 57 mm rocket pods lined up to go at Pakistan's most heavily defended airfield? Mig 27s with dumb bombs and rockets going at the other end. Everytime they skirted the ingression route - every damn siren scre...

Re: Indian Military Aviation- September 29 2013

That is the OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT of IAF. Which by extension is the operational status of INDIA when it comes to air-warfare. Disagree a bit the is the intended Operational requirement but in essence never quite reaches the level because an imported air force will never have the freedom to get th...

Re: CDS, Tri-Services Issues & Integration Debate

It permeates the IAF leadership - past and present all these 'legends' of the IAF - you run across them and then realize they are in their own closed of world- still looking at things in 1965 Young officers who went against it or wrote anything on jointmenship which did not blame the army - go shunt...

LCA or IJT will not be used for Skat till they spend years in service.

SKAT needs a tried and tested platform where they throw it around.

IJT - worst option - unknown new engine - will not happen for a long time

this is a big failure on part of the french

then allowing them to get past cramped paris roads with police unable to stop 2 guys??

Above, i think Mr. Chacko Joseph, has been mis-quoted... here, he is not referring to the current incident.. he is referring to other (ind-pak) smuggling activities, which has been going on for years. no he was not - it was a too clever by half attempt to keep his original line of argument since bl...

For the nth time read Maolankars conversation with Kartik about ASRs etc.

As for Vayu - do we know if the owners or major contributors also double up as agents for Western manufacturers?
