The gas generator method is a well described Russian method. See the SS18 Satan launches they are exactly the same. I had posted the methodology some yearsvback during onebof the Agni 5 launches. The pressure in the canister base is nearly 400 tons!

All we can say is ground trace is at least 1.73 Km's/second approx if we know the time of flight. Depends on height of trajectory,whether any depressed trajectory or overlobbing along with bleeding maneuvers were done to hide true range etc

Currently NASA uses Intel 8086 chips and will migrate to an ARM processor.
The military also uses old chips for missiles etc.

Even the US uses approximately 3or4 generation older chips for space applications. Reliability, and radiation hardening are more important. The size decrement for these specialized chips don't make too much of a difference compared to that in things like phones.
