Re: 'Make in India' Single engined fighter

We are all going in circles here :) Most of us, if not all, agree that the SE fighter acquisition makes little sense, especially in the light of Tejas production and capabilities, along with the Rafale. The best solution would be a lot more Tejas + more Rafale, that much is obvious. However the powe...

Thanks for the comprehensive answer brar. Much appreciated. As you mentioned, with the PAC3-THAAD combo, they cover most of the envelope, with the Improved Hawks handling the remaining air breathing targets. So isnt the S400 deal pointless, given that it cannot integrate with the THAAD-PAC3 combo? I...

Russians price gouging, as always. Since TASL is going to build the C-295s sometime, might as well mount the EL/M 2090 on those platforms. The radar has been tested on the C-295 anyway, so there would not be any airframe qualification costs.

This may be a noob pooch, but is the 42 squadron requirement irrespective of platform? An Su-30 or Rafale is far more capable than a single MiG-21 or Jaguar, so we would need less of the former to perform the same role as the latter.
