76mm cannons can be used as a Cwiz .... Doubt 127mm guns have the capability given lower ROF. My ideal solution was 2 x 76mm guns rather than a single 127mm mount Can the BAE gun fire anti missile rounds the way 76mmm super rapido can? from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/5%22/54_caliber_Mark_45_gun H...

ICG could help with mine countermeasures. ASW may be just too sophisticated. North Sea ferries use them, hurricane weather. Our CG OPVs must be designed for ( not fitted) with extra weaponry which can be unstalled swiftly in a crisis. For example looking at the current design, the basic hull/platform...

Re: Indian Navy News & Discussion - 15 Dec 2016

The second CGI is accurate, ironically better looking than the model. They have created some space amidships by 'cutting' into the hull... I am guessing they will install davits there - not good for stealth. The fore deck has been flushed which is good. The GRSE ASW-SWC resembles a mini Project-28 s...

Happy to be corrected but I believe manual reloads for LR-SAM is a myth. Obviously reloads should be possible from the top, but how would sailors do that out in the sea without benefit of cranes and other equipment.

I dont understand why the debate focuses on IRL (i.e. RBU) as a trade off to more LRSAMs. The latter has a small footprint and requires minimal deck penetration compared to Brahmos. IMHO IN could have installed more LRSAMs if it wanted to while still retaining the 2 IRLs.

In case of LoC, a lot of casualties are from Mujahid regiment, which is technically not a regiment of the Pak Army but their equiv of Territorial Army. This probably helps them hide the casualties.
