I would add to the list the F-16I (Storm, is it?) and the UAE's block 80s, if they ever turn up and if we ever exercise with them.

Else I agree, lets throw our vanilla Su-30s at them and watch the fun :)

Long back I found the ES 310 (US) Naval Weapons Engineering on FAS. Here is the link that talks about High Res Radar - somewhere down the page you will find Synthetic and Inverse Sysnthetic Aperture Radar (SAR & ISAR). ES310 is also good for basic radar info, and basics on communication...

Beautiful!! Harry - the part on the FOD doors... Don't the Baaz have the louvers on above the LERX that can suck in the air for the engine while taxiing? I recall there is a photo too of the Baaz taxiing with them, on the cover of Akash Yodhha or some such... And GREAT to know that all of them are A...

Re: MiG-21 News & Discussion

Thank you so much, Ravi! A large majority of the lay public think that all MiGs are MiG 21s. MiG is an aircraft designing and manufacturing concern. From this aviation industry house IAF has acquired five different types of aircraft: 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, all with a prefix of MiG. Except for the 27, w...

Re: LCA is Named Tejas!!!

why do you need to train pilots to fly MiG-21s from LCA's or Tejases (?!), when the Tejas will replace the MiG-21s in the first place. They could be trained instead for the Mirage (delta wing)... or hell, if the landing speed of the Tejas is low, then maybe you can use it to train them for the MiG-2...

Re: LCA is Named Tejas!!!

A couple of mods for Fighters Anthology had the LCA in them, but they always borrowed airframes from Mirage 2000s or Rafales, and so they looked ugly. They also handled odd as well, they were not made by Indians or people who knew the LCA :)

Only difference is "LCA" is faster to type than "Tejas"!

And secondly, now that we have developed an IIR seeker (an awesome thing), will the next logical step be an air-to-air missile? Esp. since none of the Archers so far have IIR?

The AF one in particular looked amazing with its steep angled climb...

Wouldnt the addition of the Su-30MKI add a new dimension to SEAD missions? With its large fuel load, it can burn more for fast low alt missions and can carry enough stuff for a couple of passes plus handle some a2a threats. And since it can carry half the stuff in the Russian armoury, Kh-31P include...

I dont think there is anything such as a "mechanically scanned phased array", phased arrays are either active or passive, but always electronically scanned. One of the major advantages is that you can create null spots in the field of scanning - if a known radar reciver is in a particular direction,...
