IMO India should send troops to Afghanistan.

The ideal way to do it it would be under the UN since it would diffuse most of the domestic opposition. UN authorization should not be very hard to get since the Afghanistan situation is not nearly as controversial is the Iraq situation was.

khan is right, we mustnt be flippant about it. if used correctly, both the eeriye and midas can be significant force multipliers. the question is will they be used for offense or defence? in both scenarios there are limitations - and risks. a lot depends on the pak high command's post war scenario ...

pak is getting awacs and refuelers for == h&d purposes. instead of adding to war fighting capability, these will be operational and tactical nightmares for them and a further drain on resources. if they take off at all in a tactical environment, they will be nice targets for Rambha PAF will not...
