NLCA MK1 will be used as LIFT for STOBAR operations as from carrier it will have very limited weapon payload capacity of roughly 2100 Kg which will be minimum 3500kg in case of NLCA mk2.

IA should go Akash sam in a big way @ 2 regiments per corps i.e, 28 regiments instead of 70km MRSAM Barak2.

Wide area top cover should be provided by 120km Barak 2 LRSAM by IAF.

Akash sam cost will be one third that of Barak2 sam.

IA present order for 12 regiments Akash sam can cover entire indo-pak border while to cover indo-china border additional 18 regiments will be required for a total requirement of 30 regiments.

If no of barak2 regiments are ordered than no of akash regiments will go down by the same.

This is a old jan 2014 image. Google earth is not updated with latest image.

Hanger dimensions from google earth images is estimated to be only 122m by 21m. (5x20m sections)

Hanger will normally carry 8 mig 29k +5 helos and deck 12 mig 29k+5 helo for total of 20mig 29+ 10 helos.

48 MRH + 78 NMRH=126 +10% attrition reserve=139nos.

Of which 16 MRH is contracted and remaining 123 nos to be NMRH as remainder requirement of MRH is merged into NMRH so as to allow production line to be set up in INDIA.

It do not make sense as MRH i.e., S70B will be far cheaper than NMRH.

KASHIN CLASS destroyer packs 44 pechora sam of 953 kg weight each and delhi class destoryer carry 48 nos shitil sam of 700kg weight each.

INS Kolkatta can easily carry 275kg Barak8 sam if 64 nos was desired and no of Barak 8 to 32 nos is not limited by any design limitation.

When a ground hugging ashm is detected at 25km range flying few feet above sea level it does not make any sense to engage it using 70km range costly BARAK 8 and better is to destroy it using cheap 20km range IIR SR SAM.

IAF Dhruv order is for initial 22+54=76 of which 16 is WSI version.

IN is 8+16 recent order=24

CG is 4+16 recent order=20

TOTAL order is for IA 230+ IAF 76+ IN 24+ CG 20=350 Dhruvs.

Of which presently roughly estimated 150 are in defence service IA 90+ IAF 50 +IN 8+ CG 4.

IA orders for Dhruv were initial 40. Then 105 were ordered(of 159 order of which 54 for IAF) of which 60 were Rudra WSI versions. In Dec 2012 DAC order for 45 Dhruv for Rs 3310 Cr and Dec 2013 order for 41 for 3000 Cr of which 40 were for IA and one for IN. Don't know whether this orders were subset...
