Akash is MRSAM with 40 km(mk2 version) range and 15km altitude ceiling of which 2000 nos missiles in 2 regiments will be procured which will replace kvadrat.

QRSAM is entirely different requirement of SRSAM of 15km and 6km altitude requirement of spyder class.

MTOW of 10T with 2T internal weapon load and 3T internal fuel for long range and non afterburning version of Kaveri with 5T thrust can be expected.

5T can be the empty weight with kaveri engine weighing 1T.

IAF AKASH order is 8sq=16 batteries is for 1000 sam i.e, 62.5 sam per battery. While IA 2regi=12 batteries is for 1500 sam i.e, 125 sam per battery which is too high a number for 4 launchers with 12 ready to launch sams. A two helina launcher with cooling system for seeker weighs 170Kg. Therefore only 8 helinas in four launcher will be carried which will weigh 4*170=680Kg.

Around October 2010 the reported figure of Su30 from HAL was 80 nos and direct from was Russia 50 nos i.e 130 nos. 2 have crashed therefore net 128nos. This was a newspaper report on HAL.

If we really require F35 instead of MRCA we can go in for faster induction of FFGA.

By 2040 a hi lo mix of 500 5th gen(250 FFGA+250 AMCA) and 530 4th gen (270 Su30mki +126 MRCA +134 LCA mk1&mk2) will be sufficient.
