Trust me, IR does some rudimentary wind tunnel analysis of its locomotives. I've seen WT models of WAP-4 & WAP-7 (not the above loco). Was surprised and pleased to see those WT models. I am sure they would have done some CFD analysis on the modified locomotive to rough out the edges in design......
