Re: Decline in standards in the armed forces - causes/soluti

Corruption was always there. It was not always so blatant as to reallocate defence land as belonging to the state government, tampering of documents, and illegal constructions. Face it. Re: Decline in standards in the armed forces - causes/soluti

I have to agree with Austin. It is a systemic decline in all aspects of society. However, be the change and inspire others is the way forward.

I am extremely impressed with General V.K. Singh's approach. It is practical, pragmatic and does not indulge in any form of self denial.

Re: Indian Naval Discussion

@tsarkar, Sir your opinion on NewsX, Vishal Thapar and Indo-U.S. strategic potential is your own and I don't want to challenge that. Nor are we trying to make an authoritative statement of the like "Hey, this is what will happen in the next few weeks!" . All we do is serve as a source for ...

^^ Does the LSA give IN access to U.S. bases in the Indian Ocean? What exactly does this agreement mean to IN's force projection capabilities?

Re: Military Acquisitions, Partnerships & Developments

Yeah .. David's Sling surprised me when I heard the interview for the first time .. Trying to get Raytheon to confirm this as well .. More importantly, U.S. or Indian Govt. confirmation would be awesome (if some BRfite can work on this?) These companies will always push for more business, it's been ...

Re: Military Acquisitions, Partnerships & Developments

Highlights of the interview for me.. "While offset clause only focuses on the value of the deal, there is no weightage given to quality of the technology provided. E.g. high-tech electronics system and machined components are assigned same value. There is no added bonus or incentive for compani...

Re: India's R&D in Defence DRDO, PSUs and Private Sector

@vic What is stopping the Defence PSUs from refusing the low funding? Just say: "Sorry, can't be done." These babus exist both in the Government and the DPSUs. And *that* is the problem. Fair competition from the private sector will either reform our Defence PSUs (which mind you have treme...
