Re: Perspectives on the global economic meltdown- (Nov 28 20

My take is this. The middle Eastern countries who are oil rich thus cash rich will take over these big sporting events. Initially by backing it financially then buying the brand outright and then moving it to their home turf...........This is clearly a massive change brought about changing Global e...

What happens to things like the Wimbledon, the US masters golf and similar high profile sport events when the prize money is very reduced?

I think sports can be classified under culture and so the prize money should be kept same or even increased

Re: Discussion on Indian Epics, Texts, Treatises & Kathas

Adrija ji, Does he (Valiya) say anything specific about SSVC (IVC) sites being post Mahabharata? In any case, I have made a case -based on my dating of MBH war and archeological dating of IVC (mature phase and not earlier Mehagarh phase), that mature IVC is post Mahabharata. That is the reason I as...

Finished Valdiya's latest book (which Ramana has linked earlier in the Book Review thread as well)............lots of interesting stuff but most radical (to me at least) was the explicit acceptance of the Indus Valley sites being Puranic! Other than 5 villages and possibly their names, none of this 'intent' alluded to (by me.. aka writer of original article I refer to) is part of Mahabharata text. This is rather interpretation of it in our times. IIRC, the five villages asked for by the Pandavas were the "panch pat"- Khand...

Hence, if the NDA had got 1 percent more vote and UPA had got 1 percent less vote, the situation would have been totally different. OK, let me see if I can make sense of this: 1. Indian farmers get FAR more of the value add as a % of the final price than US farmers (Himanshu in Mint, cited above). I am not drawing any causality between organized retail and this, at least not yet 2. Indian consumers get farm produce more cheaply,...
