There are multiple launch pads at Chandipur and if these are purely user trials they can position 2 or more TELs and should one fail as happened now, the second one can be launched with in the same time window and thats how IA would use them anyways the same thing happened when in the last but one A...

nuclear deterrence is ok as long as we have space to react conventionally wrt terrorist actions; Indian reaction on 26/11 showed we don't have that space since our pundits on esclation calculus deemed that TSP in retaliation could lob few missiles which could land on our population centers, ABM depl...

for boost phase interception the spec of SM-3 is suitable which is 150km altitude and 500km range while PDV is said to be close to THAAD which is at 150km altitude and 200km range There was a mention of a possible surface role for a PDV derivative which suggests longer ranges are possible. ITR sources said the missile would be tested for 320 km range. Earlier on June 18 last, the missile was conducted for a range of 273 km. Wow! Missile range is gradually increasing. If the max. range is 350 km what is the significance of testing @ 320 km from the previous 273 km range. Probably they...

ust sharing my thoughts...I see there are three areas to look for in utilizing Astra for the role you describe.... 1. Sensor: The current sensor must have the capability to use in ABM role. 2. Kinematic profile: Astra is designed as AAM missile which boost then coast or sustain and go for the endga...

The spec for Pinaka-2 rockets says it has a range of 120km and attains a height of 40km, if ramjet propulsion is integrated are we suggesting that it can attain even longer ranges in its descent phase along with maneuverability? in which case how is this not better than a coasting SAM or a air dropp...

By loosening the term CIWS, since the speed of a torpedo is no comparison to a fast moving anti-ship missile if there is a prediction of the torpedo path the gun can basically mine its probable paths with screens of 'grenades' and need not create an underwater 'wall of lead', so this may not require...
