FYI, the original word was "batters" back before W.G. Grace was a gleam in his dad's eyes. The word "batsman" came into vogue in the early 20th century (i can dig up the reference). People are just returning to roots onlee. Maybe.. but I think people are just copying the America...

When was the last Test that had a "Rest Day"? I remember in the 80s this was common. Nowadays, no one has time for rest. :eek:

This is present in other communities in India also. I see it in Kannada and Konkani communities. Tamil, Gujarati and Andhra communities have a lot fo pride.
