Re: Ghauri II -- Liquid Fuelled -- Analysis
Cant tell much from the pix. One thing is the G-II has more smoke but we dont know how many seconds after T0. The G-I picture is a frame grabbed from TV while the later is a photo.
Any way new stuff is coming out on the NoDong/ G-I/II in Janes' IDR- July or Aug '99. (Salman can you help?) The gis...

Re: Strategic Affairs - II
An opinion article from B.Raman about Taliban, Laden and India. One thing to remember about Laden is his fight is with the forces that have occupied Islamic holy places and is a reverse of the Crusades. If he tries to fight against India it dilutes his stance and could lead to problems. BTW, if I re...

Could we keep this for a fortnight or so? I did read the article when it first came out. Johann you hit the nail on the head. Indian contributions are not so well highlighted due to all the facts you mention. I thik the 5th Indian division was also involved in Italy. Gohar can wave what he wants. There is no need to test anymore. Why create debris in our own land? Re: India planning another nuclear test: Shamshad
The question being asked is ' Is one test sufficient?' This has two levels of answers- technical and political.
First the technical. A fusion based device consists of - a trigger, a fission based primary (could be boosted), a secondary and an optional tertiary heavy metal blanket. Of these the cr...

A few things first.
Indian estimates of POK-2 yield were based on:
1) Seismic methods
- Magnitude of Mb wave. Has attenuation problems - i.e stations far-away will read less magnitude. The Goa herald article was scanned by shiv and should be archived. Kargil Impressions - Trip Report
I have returned from our family's quadrennial India trip. I landed in Delhi at the height of Kargil crises, around July 4th. I expected Delhi to be under a seige mentality and was pleasantly surprised to find out I was wrong. Everything was chalta hai. People were going about their normal routines i...
