Re: MiG-21 Bison shoots down F-16 in Kashmir
A few squadrons of su-57 along with the mki upgrade may not be a bad idea...While it may not match the uber 22 it will be sufficient for dealing with solahs, updated flankers and the (J)frigate -20. If one tenth of what VIshnu Som's sources claim is true, we will need to act quickly. I also doubt if...

Re: PAK-FA and FGFA: News & Discussion - June 2014
One understands IAf's concerns about this bird but there appears to be no long term strategy to replace the su30s while our neighbor has a large LO bird entering service. There is no doubt that the rafale plus spectra can deal with this but that is only 36 aircraft and it also does not offer some of...

There is no 6g restriction- it is 8g as Indranil has told us. The 6g was not a quote from the group captain. GC Dhankar was talking in general terms about agility being still a need. Ok. I will bite this. Last time, I was clad in my freshly painted chain mail and swinging sword left and right, really expected support from capitol. It never came. I was very disappointed. My angst was totally justified. Finally, our GoI engaging paki spin-masters head on. It's about time. Actuall...

A video which captures the max rate turns at Lima very well.
The 22-23 second 360 turns appear to be faster than what the F-18 demonstrated in the same conditions.

Looks like full briefing was given to a group of media just now. We are being made to reveal capabilities but I guess GOI and IAF had no choice here... There is no need to reveal anything to satisfy folks on social media. Saar unfortunately this fraud narrative was picked up by more than just social media. Hence now another official IAF statement had to be made....

The combination of low rcs, agility and solid sensor setup means the bird would have caused hell to the solahs on FEB 27(iam not questioning the bisons suitability). The IAF has its reasons to wait till next year but the sooner one squadron is based near the porkis the better it is.

The f16 is said to have taken shots from 40-50km... even if the sukhois had the r27 instead of the r77 they could have fired back. Even the mirages were said to be locked on and did not retaliate. Perhaps the cap were only cleared for wvr and equipped only for that?

Yes but MKI not firing R-77 R-27 at multiple bogies respecting ROE is also significant. I was toeing the ROE line a few pages upthread but this new information is a little confusing.
