Re: Small Arms Thread
Also I think we should also consider the FN P90, Tavor and the indigenous Zitara (Not fully sure of the last one). As these weapons are already in use by the Indian armed forces and SPG it would make interoperability, maintenance, etc. Another obvious choice IMHO would also be the INSAS carbine. Ei...

PC is seen as media savvy and the skeptic in me thinks they are resigned to allowing more attacks and only want a better pr man than patil to work the media after each attack.

Barkha dutt is beyond belief-scary even. Am I the only one who thinks the spinning of the cnn correspondent to the unkil viewers(they bring the feed up on the international channel sometimes) is rather different to what is reported to the international channel directly

Re: IAF at Red Flag / Nellis AFB 2008
The article also suggests that 400 million USD meant for shutting down F-22 assembly line may be syphoned off to fund four addittional Raptors. So Raptor is around 140 million per unit and taking 50-60 million USD for each new MKI, 1 Raptor ~ 3 MKIs. Cheers.... Neerajji there are plenty of figures ...

Re: IAF at Red Flag / Nellis AFB 2008
that video should not have been released. It was never intended to be a public knowledge about what a pilot at USAF thinks. Well...now its been shown all over TV....what a waste..... In any case,....whatever that guy said...he would not have said it off-hand. Su-30 is no match against Raptor...even...

Re: IAF at Red Flag / Nellis AFB 2008
This "briefing" and its contents may have been vetted by a senior officer. A f-15 pilot is not going to be dumb enough to blow his career over this. This suggests that bitterness in the usaf establishment over cope runs rather deep.

Re: China Military Watch
Either the pilot is being conservative or this plane is not agile. Even a Tu-160 could out maneuver this flying brick. Cheers.... :rotfl: . Re: IAF at Red Flag / Nellis AFB 2008
This is strong proof that the whipping at COPE was real and not made up to bolster the case for more raptors which was what the yankee fanboys were claiming. Any perceived gain-however minor and irrelevant -is now shouted out from the roof tops. Nice to know that the wounds are still fresh...

The tender for carbines is a little strange-the 200m accuracy specs seem to match the zittara and one would think it would be a no brainer. Why issue a tender?

Re: Indian Military Aviation
Stealth(at least the shaping part of it) is no longer the voodoo that its made out to be by the yankee fanboys. What counts is money and time-if you have more of the former you can get away with less of the latter. Given the tools and parameters that have been developed for the Lca-it will not be to...

Bharadwaj, The MRCA deal is next in line. I hope to god that the Congress loses the next elections or we will be tied to American empire for the next generation. One does get the scary feeling that MRCA is just the start of this show with hercules/poseidon being something of a teaser. Tanks, guns et...

Will uncle push abrams on to us after the n-deal? If so this may cause more trouble for the long term future for Arjun but will at least break the Russian monopoly.

What about military application of these jets.. Once the MTA gets around we will have a medium lift capability. These too could be modified into somehting different. Maybe a AWAC/JSTAR/SIGINT/ELINT platform. An awacs can be theoretically done on either Tupolev airframe but the entire R and D for in...
