I assume we don't want to disclose ISRO's operational capabilities, so the movie took some cinematic liberties and brought in the DRDO kid. But I was puzzled by the disdain shown towards DRDO, seemed uncalled for.

At whose behest? Any spying can be used against us and make us to some things, if not directly, indirectly. So I wouldn't discount spying by western equipment manufacturers that easily.

Per info available on IRFCA, T-18 is based on WAP-5 wheelsets (wheel+axle) and FIAT bogies with LHB coach shells.
