Re: Indian Navy News & Discussion - 15 Dec 2016

There must be 3 lines for sub. Scorpene expertise must not be lost. So production line should be 1. Mazagaon, 2. Visakhapatnam, 3. private mostly L&T. There is a need for 2 additional submarine repair yards, rather than sending submarine to foreign shores for repair.

Actually if HAL has complete control over HJT-36 and has to use internal resources. It will avoid HAL going for every time to MOD for approval or every requirement. 40 to 200Gbs capability available over fiber, infiniband.
10GB ethernet available over copper and fiber for a long time.
40Gb ethernet available now. mostly over fiber.

The problem was not the bandwidth over wire/fiber, but the actual transmit and receive module capability.

Boeing is the sales partner for KC-390. What does that mean operationally? Can they not help create a different segment of transporters with another country? Can they not consult? Is it binding? Maybe Boeing could be a partner. They don't have a product to compete against LMs c130. MTA with same engines as c17 the p&w 40000lb and similar cockpit could be quite a competitor against a lot of other offerings. They could even sell/reuse potions of c17 line which name sense and design and d...

LCA Mk2 is delayed because there is no agreed upon leader in the ADA-AF faction who has a clear idea of what is required of the LCA AF Mk2. On the Navy side, Mao sir has a clear idea, but not enough power. Because MK1A meets 95 of the objective, the only things M2k offers is more range, more capabi...

I feel that LCA-Mk2 is deliberately delayed, because of IAF penchant for changing mind when they see something on the horizon, specially for local product. IAF has played lot of hard ball with R&D, so I think they want to make sure they get all that is ordered and use Mk1A, still a much better p...

I think (or at least the way I do it) is a "time-line" needs three things: User/client, provider/researcher and opponent (of the client/user). Only then will the picture be clear. So, I have no problem if the MK2 is delivered in 2035 - great plane, etc. But once placed in conjunction with...
