The organ (ते इन्द्रिय) takes back (आददे - आ+ ददे = to Ungive) the glory (यश) of the glorious lady (यशसा). Thus she becomes inglorious (अयशा). Atri ji, does the use of आ 1) implies 'an absense of' or 'without' in which case, आददे यश =/= takes back, it may mean something like 'does not give yash' or...

Shivji, I do believe you. And this Rabbit hole keeps going deeper and deeper. This is actually education for me. I had never heard of Lemuria. If anyone is interested in interpreting numbers, 1. Budget documents for MoD are here. 2. Capital outlay details -- One very interesting statistic - MoD actually overspent its budget last year. As opposed to budget of 164,400 cr, MoD spend 170,930 crore even though capital spending was lower by 300...

Agree there. Dragunov SVD was the 'best for us' and in most cases is likely to remain so. What I was thinking of was M82/M107 class weapon used in all sort of settings. A .50 BMG cal weapon firing twice the distance of an SVD, could be a great force multiplier. I dont know what is used by IA for rol...

rohit, it was after reading some part of these discussions that I began reading about SVDs. I have a lot of respect for this weapon now and for the way it is deployed presently.
For future though it seems IA could get even better results by having a bigger program for Snipers.

Correct. For 39 cal, I believe ToT was done, but 39 cal is obsolete for Towed & SPH. Even obsolete artillery pieces are better than none at all. IMHO, if the OFB can quickly produce the duplicates of Bofors 155mm 39 cal that we already have, it will be a welcome addition to Indian Army's invent...
