That is a bit surprising and then again maybe not.... Perhaps the resources at ADA/HALwould be better being pooled into AMCA rather than being spread thin. HAL was talking about rolling out mk2 in 18 months.

If the former Air chief did indeed say that - he is wrong. They have the same wing barring the differences in the pylon area. The a340-500/600 do have a larger wing but they have no relation to the mrtt platform.
