Recently I had the opportunity to go to New Delhi Railway Station. I was shocked to see the condition of the station. This should have been the premier railway station of the country, yet it looked like a cattle shed or even worse. This is surprising considering the fact that there are other railway...

The best way to clear the muck is to sign the agreement and immediately announce a nuclear test. India should make use of these tests to fine tune weapon design. It has to be a series of tests, about 10, so that further tests are not needed. Testing may be done over a 2 year period so that it allows...

Congrats to DRDO, and to the GoI for having the balls to do the test. I suspect that DRDO may have had some help from ISRO in this development.
We need Surya next.

With regard to the camoflaging of sensitive sites, I smell a rat. The GoI stands to lose either way. Scenario 1: If GoI does not protest about high res pics being made available by Google earth, then any sensitive sites any where in India will be publicly visible and interested people can find them....

Wondering if the paid version has better resolution.

I wish the GoI had a backbone Every time China attacks India, there should be an automatic statement issued in support of Taiwan. The GoI should put out the info on Chinese nuclear proliferation. But what can you expect with the 'nut' minister in charge of external affairs. I think BR should start a...

Re: Bharat Rakshak Celebrates Six Years!

I think BR is the best thing that happened to Indians everywhere. It is a symbol of a resurgent India and not surprisingly the computer seems to be the vehicle for the India of the 21st century. 1) What is it about Bharat Rakshak (and the forum) that makes you want to keep coming back every day BR i...

I wonder if this would be the first time an Indian designed aircraft is exhibited at an airshow outside of India. If so, it is indeed a special day, a harbinger of things to come.

Re: LCA is Named Tejas!!!

AFAIK the kaveri engine and kabini core were run for over a 1000 hrs at GTRE (sea level tests) before being sent to Russia. If there was a compressor problem it would have been detected at GTRE. So my guess is that the lack of compression showed up at high altitude tests, either at low temperature-l...

Re: LCA is Named Tejas!!!

I am guessing that the scenario is as follows: A. HAL/ADA could start producing the Tejas in small numbers, say 5 a year, in the same form as the PV1 using the same methods they have used so far. However they would not be from a production line and would almost be hand made as far as the structure g...

Re: LCA is Named Tejas!!!

Abhinav I am sure that if the model making companies see a lot of interest, they would bring out a model. However I am concerned about another aspect which is about who owns the rights. I wonder if one has to get permission from ADA or GoI before doing it. There is also the possibility that if the A...

Re: LCA is Named Tejas!!!

Here's one quick and relatively cheap way to get the models made commercially. From a 3D or solid model, generate a .SLA file. Send it to a rapid prototyping outfit and they would give you a plastic model form a stereolithography machine for about $500. This plastic model could be used to make a RTV...

Tejas
Nice name for a person or project or a satellite but not very appropriate for a fighter plane. Radiance is not going to make anybody **** in their pants.
