Re: Indian Air Force News & Discussion - 23 March 2021

There are quite a few questions that need to be solved. 1. All straits in the East are watched round the clock via surface, subsurface, airborne and space based assets. Past that it's tougher but not impossible. 2. In a conflict, PLAN assets would already be in the IOR. 3. When targeting is required...

A lease of 6-16 entirely Russian Tus will be a massive drain on IAF revenue expenditure. True...but I think this possibility has been prematurely raised. BUT this is true for ANY new system or aircraft platform. Working out the Realization & Sustainment is (unsexy but essential) work that requi...

The US Navy trains pilots first on the Goshawk for carrier operations. And then the Shornet. Even that is going to change with advent of technology.

BEL does the hardware design for the DFCC. Not just the electronics but the housing also. They've done it for the LCA too. So it is a natural progression that Mk2 and AMCA and TEDBF also work this way.

Obviously a lot of detail couldn't be published. We don't have the latest on this and blade related research was only proposed back then.

Besides, cooling is a major focus and was seen as the way to achieve higher TeT. We might actually see both methods combined (if that actually helps).

I've read almost everywhere that artillery came into the picture later on during Kargil war. The question is not what will bring the numbers back up but the costs involved.
